Jaguars Activate DE Dante Fowler From Suspended List, Waive DT Michael Bennett

The Jacksonville Jaguars announced Tuesday that they’ve activated DE Dante Fowler Jr from the suspended list and waived DT Michael Bennett.

Fowler’s one-game suspension stemmed from a violation of the NFL’s personal conduct policy.

Fowler, 23, is a former first-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2015. He is entering the final year of his four-year, $23.5 million fully guaranteed contract and is set to earn a base salary of $3,638,214 for the 2018 season.

The Jaguars declined Fowler’s fifth-year option a few months ago.

In 2017, Fowler appeared in all 16 games for the Jaguars and recorded 21 total tackles, eight sacks, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and scored one defensive touchdown. Pro Football Focus rated him as the No. 93 overall edge defender out of 106 qualifying players.
