Jaguars Hire Seahawks DC Gus Bradley As Their Next Head Coach

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Jacksonville Jaguars have hired Seahawks defensive coordinator Gus Bradley as their next head coach.

His intangibles and leadership abilities are exceptional,” said GM David Caldwell. “Gus is who the Jaguars need now and in the future.”

There was some speculation that Caldwell was waiting for 49ers offensive coordinator Greg Roman to become available, but apparently that wasn’t the case. It’s worth noting that Bradley is only defensive-minded coach to be hired so far. All of the other teams have gone with offensive coaches, which is really a sign of the times.

Bradley has done a great job with the Seahawks defense. Their unit is among the best in the league, thanks in large part to Bradley. Jacksonville has plenty of holes to fill on their roster and it’s not going to be an easy process.
