Jaguars Likely To Franchise Allen Robinson If They Can’t Get Long-Term Deal Done?

Ryan O’Halloran of the Florida Times-Union mentioned Friday during an appearance on the Ross Tucker Podcast” that it would be “shocking” if Allen Robinson isn’t back in Jacksonville for the 2018 season.

“It would be shocking if Allen Robinson isn’t with the Jags next year,” O’Halloran said, per Tucker.

According to O’Halloran, Jacksonville will likely use their franchise tag on Robinson if they’re unable to reach an agreement on a long-term deal in coming weeks.

A few days ago, Robinson indicated that he will be fully recovered from his torn ACL injury “well before” the start of training camp.

“It’s not like one of those things where it happened at the end of the year. I’ll be cleared well before the season starts and well before training camp,” Robinson said, per SiriusXM NFL Radio.

Robinson added that his injury is not an issue and that teams around the NFL are aware of his playmaking ability.

Every team across the league knows what I’ve done in this league and what I’m capable of so that’s not really an issue,” Robinson said, per SiriusXM NFL Radio.

Robinson, 24, is a former second-round pick by the Jaguars in the 2014 NFL Draft. He played out the final year of a four-year, $3.510 million rookie contract and made a base salary of $898,755 for the 2017 season.

Robinson is now in position to test the open market for the first time in his NFL career.

In 2017, Robinson appeared in one game and caught one pass for 17 yards and no touchdowns.
