Jay Cutler Expected To Sit Out Practice Thursday

Bears quarterback Jay Cutler is expected to miss practice Thursday as he is recovering from a concussion he suffered last week, per Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times.

“Indications are that quarterback Jay Cutler will not practice today at Halas Hall,” writes Jensen. “In addition, his usual press conference today will not take place. Those are both strong indications that Cutler hasn’t been cleared by team doctors to return to the practice field, the first key step in hopes of him starting Monday night against the San Francisco 49ers.”

More details on Cutler’s status will be available once head coach Lovie Smith meets with the media. Jason Campbell will take reps with the first team offense in practice. If Cutler is not cleared of his concussion, then Campbell will likely be under center for the Bears Monday night against the 49ers.
