Jets Still Believe In RB Shonn Greene

New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan mentioned he’s pleased with how RB Shonn Greene has looked in recent weeks.

“I thought Shonn ran the ball really well (against the Giants),” said Ryan, via the New York Daily News. “I love the way he saw that vision… you saw him squaring those pads up and he was running through. He was feeling it, there was no question.”

The Jets have made it clear that Greene will be the engine for an offense that hopes to revive its “ground-and-pound” rushing attack. After two preseason games, Greene has 16 carries for only 47 yards and two catches for nine yards, which isn’t exactly incredible production. The Jets offensive line figures to be an issue for them this season, so it will be interesting to see if Greene can finally put together a solid season from start to finish. After all, he’s set to hit the free agent market at the end of the season. We have him listed as the No. 44 best available player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
