Lions Claim CB Josh Thomas Off Waivers From Jets

The Detroit Lions have claimed CB Josh Thomas off of waivers from the New York Jets on Wednesday, according to Kyle Meinke.

Earlier in the day, news broke that the Lions are placing OT LaAdrian Waddle on season-ending injured reserve, so it appears as though Thomas will take his place on the team’s active roster.

Thomas, 25, signed on with the Seahawks at the start of the 2014 season, but was released after a month with the team. Before that, he was with the Panthers, but was unfortunately among their final roster cuts as the trimmed their squad down to 53 players.

The Jets waived him Tuesday as they signed S Rontez Miles to their active roster.

This season, Thomas appeared in four games and recorded two tackles and two passes defensed.
