Lions Signing TE Darren Fells To One-Year, $1.5M Deal

Mike Garafolof NFL Media reports that the Lions are signing TE Darren Fells to a one-year deal worth $1.5 million.

The Lions recently brought Fells in for a visit and were in the market for a tight end, so this shouldn’t come as a big surprise.

Fells, 30, originally signed on with the Seahawks back in 2013. He spent just a few months in Seattle before he was waived at the start of the 2013 season. The Cardinals later signed him to their practice before bringing him back on a future/reserve contract in January of 2014.

Arizona elected to re-sign Fells to a one-year deal last year.

In 2016, Fells appeared in 14 games for the Cardinals and caught 14 passes for 154 yards receiving and one touchdown.
