NFL Notes: Broncos, Browns, Cowboys & Rams

Broncos

  • Mike Klis mentions that the Broncos will no doubt have to make a roster move this week and add a tight end to their roster.

Browns

Browns veteran QB Josh McCown said he plans to honor his contract with the team and return next year.

“I have a contract here [through 2017],” McCown said, via ESPN.com. “My plan right now is to honor that. This has been a tough season, but when you’re in this and trying to build it, you want to see it through as much as you can.

However, he plans to take some time and consider the possibility of calling it a career.

“It’s a matter of getting away with my family and talking to them,” McCown said. “Every year since my [oldest] daughter’s been in high school, we’ve always discussed it. It hasn’t been a very long conversation, necessarily, but we’ve always discussed it because [family] is my priority.

“She’s a senior, will be going to college next year. We’ll do what we always do — think about it, pray about it, and try to make the best decision we can.

  • Browns CB Joe Haden told reporters on Thursday that he will need to undergo groin surgery following the season, but plans to play through the injury for the final two games of the season. (Scott Petrak)

Cowboys

  • Todd Archer mentions that the Cowboys will have until 3 p.m. CT on Monday to add DE Randy Gregory to their active roster in order for him to play against the Lions.

Rams

  • Rams interim HC John Fassel announced Thursday that QB Jared Goff has cleared the concussion protocol and will start against the 49ers on Saturday. (Myles Simmons)
