- The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced Friday that they’ve promoted Byron Kiefer from National Scout to Senior National Scout, Antwon Murray from NFS/Combine Scout to area scout and Brian McLaughlin from Scouting Assistant to NFS/Combine Scout.
- The Buccaneers also hired Sean Conley, Will Edmunds and Zach Smith as Scouting Assistants.
“When you add a guy like that, it just trickles down throughout the whole room of guys just their study habits,” Carr said, via NBC Sports Bay Area. “You see Jordy off to the side when another group is in, if you just look over there, he is probably just telling somebody something about a route or a technique or a coverage. He’s very smart. He can read coverage like a quarterback.”
Carr added that it’s clear why Aaron Rodgers enjoyed playing with Nelson in Green Bay so much.
“Nothing is just being left under the rug,” Carr said. “Nothing is just being thrown out the window and not thought about. Jordy is very detailed. He wants to do everything exactly how you want it done. I see why Aaron (Rodgers) loved throwing him the ball. He knows if you’re comfortable, you’ll throw it to them. I think all the guys are taking note of that.”
Back in 2014, Texans OL David Quessenberry was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and wound up finally returning for the 2017 season.
Quessenberry says he plans to do whatever he can to help teammate Andre Hal, who was recently diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
“It’s a shock and a terrible thing to go through, but he’s a fighter,” Quessenberry said, per John McClain. “He’s tough. He’s going to give it hell, beat it and come back to play the game he loves. I’m going to be there for him any way I can, and he knows that. It can be beat. He’s going to beat it, come back and accomplish his goal. Andre’s energetic. He’s got passion. He’s a leader. He’s going to need all of that to beat this.”
