NFL Notes: Dolphins, Panthers, Redskins, Steelers

Dolphins

  • Josina Anderson reports that NFL investigators determined that there is “insufficient evidence” for a violation of the personal conduct policy in regards to the domestic violence allegations against Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry.
  • This means that Landry’s case is closed and there won’t be any punishment from the NFL.
  • We have him featured in our Top 25 – 2018 NFL Free Agents list.

Panthers

Panthers TE Greg Olsen (foot, injured reserve) said he expects to return to the return to practice next week.

“I’m doing good,” Olsen said, via Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer. “I’m starting to move around. Start progressing here and . . . hopefully start getting on the field and doing some stuff by next week, and just take that next step. Everything’s going well.

“We won’t really know a lot until you start really getting out there and moving around and running around and see how it responds,” Olsen said. “So far so good.”

Redskins

Redskins WR Terrelle Pryor saw his role significantly reduced during Monday’s loss to the Redskins. However, he says that there won’t be any animosity moving forward about his playing time and role in Washington’s offense.

You’re not going to see any animosity with me, you’re not going to see me angry,” Pryor said, via the Washington Post.

Steelers

Steelers HC Mike Tomlin told reporters that WR Martavis Bryant is not available for trade, despite him making a trade request and his recent comments that he wants out if his role isn’t expanded.

“We’ve invested a lot in Martavis since we drafted him. He’s not available via trade. We’ve invested a lot,” Tomlin said, via NFL.com.

Tomlin referred to Bryant’s comments on social media “out of bounds” and plans to talk with him soon.

“We’ve covered a lot of ground,” Tomlin said. “It’s obvious that we still got more ground to cover with him because were having a conversation about him that’s not football related. But we have, he’s done a lot in the period of time that he’s been here in terms of improving, not only as a player but as a man. But we still got a ways to go. He was out of bounds with some of his actions, in terms of the things that he said on social media.”

  • According to Tomlin, rookie WR JuJu Smith-Shuster is in the concussion protocol and TE Vance McDonald has knee bruise. (Ed Bouchette)
