NFL Rumors: Jets Offseason Plan

So far we discussed the possiblity that Jason Taylor could retire and whether or not the Jets will bring back LaDanian Tomlinson.

Rex Ryan addressed the teams offseason plans by saying that “there’s going to be some guys that are going to make a lot more money than we can afford to pay.” “There’s probably going to be a guy who may retire … (and) a guy that we move on from. I would love to have this entire group back next season. I recognize that’s not realistic.”

It appears that David Harris and Antonio Cromartie will be the teams top priority as they head into the offseason. The Jets traded a second-round pick in return for Cromartie during the offseason with the intention of signing him to a long-term contract. Cromartie proved his worth to the Jets during the first half of the NFL season so he the most likely player to addressed.

The Jets seem as though they’re ready to wait on Braylon Edwards and Santonio Holmes until the others players have been addressed. Both wideouts should receiver a fair amount of interest considering that they played well for the Jets this season.

With the number of players that have come out and expressed interest in playing for the Jets and Rex Ryan, they may be able to fill holes cheaper than normal because of the interest that they’ve generated.
