A veteran college scout who spoke to Peter King of TheMMQB.com is convinced that there’s “no way” new Browns GM John Dorsey will pass on Wyoming QB Josh Allen with the No. 1 overall pick.
“I believe there is no way Cleveland, at number one, will pass on [Wyoming quarterback] Josh Allen,” the scout tells King. “This is [Carson] Wentz reincarnated. Allen’s a perfect Dorsey quarterback. Just watch.”
Surprisingly, this isn’t the first we’ve heard about the possibility of Dorsey taking Allen to open the 2018 draft.
Allen just recently declared for the 2018 draft. He is considered to be one of the top quarterback prospects in next year’s draft class and will likely end up being a high first-round pick when all is said and done.
While Allen has an impressive skill set to work with, there are questions about he’ll fair in the NFL and some seem to believe he’ll require some time to learn develop.
During his college career at Wyoming, Allen threw for 4,912 yards while completing 56.2 percent of his passes to go along with 41 touchdowns 21 interceptions over the course of 26 games. He also rushed for 770 yards and 12 touchdowns for Wyoming.
