Packers Signing RB Darius Jackson Off Cowboys’ PS

Clarence Hill reports that the Packers are signing RB Darius Jackson off of the Cowboys’ practice squad on Monday.

The Packers have an open roster spot and were clearly trying to figure out their running back depth chart for Week 1, given that Aaron Jones is suspended to the start the year.

Jackson, 24, was selected in the sixth round of last year’s draft by the Cowboys. Dallas waived Jackson towards the end of the 2016 season and was later claimed off waivers by the Browns.

The Cowboys signed Jackson to a contract in May, but elected to cut him loose as they trimmed their roster down to 53 players last weekend. Dallas later signed Jackson to their practice squad.

Jackson has yet to appear in an NFL game.

During his college career at Eastern Michigan, Jackson ran for 1,596 yards on 321 carries (5 YPC) to go along with 44 receptions for 375 yards receiving and 21 touchdowns.
