Packers Worked Out Three Players Including DT Stefan Charles

According to Adam Caplan, the Packers worked out DT Stefan Charles, TE Robert Tonyan and OLB Max Valles on Tuesday.

Of this group, the Packers elected to sign Tonyan to their practice squad.

Charles, 28, originally signed on with the Titans as an undrafted free agent out of Regina back in 2013. He was later signed off of the Titans’ practice squad by the Bills and spent three years in Buffalo. The Lions later signed him to a one-year contract in March of last year.

Jacksonville wound up waiving him as they trimmed their roster down to the 53-man limit.

In 2016, Charles appeared in 12 games and recorded 12 tackles and no sacks for the Lions.

Valles, 23, is a former sixth-round pick out of Virginia by the Raiders in the 2015 NFL Draft. He was signed off of the Raiders’ practice squad by the Bills and bounced on and off Buffalo’s practice squad before being re-signed by the Raiders back in September.

He has been on and off Oakland’s practice squad this season.

During his two-year college career, Valles recorded 78 total tackles, 18 tackles for loss, 13 sacks, one interception, 12 pass defenses, two fumble recoveries, four forced fumbles, and scored one defensive touchdown.
