Panthers Waive OT Nate Chandler

The Carolina Panthers announced Thursday that they’ve placed OT Nate Chandler on waivers.

This is the fourth roster move made by the Panthers today after they cut DE Charles Johnson and DT Dwan Edwards, and re-signed G Chris Scott.

Chandler, 26, was entering the third year of his four-year, $5.12 million rookie contract that included $1.87 million guaranteed. He was set to make base salaries of $1.45 million over the next two years.

According to OverTheCap.com, releasing Chandler will free up $1.3 million in available cap space while creating $400,000 in dead money.

Chandler missed the entire 2015 season due to a knee injury that led to him being placed on season-ending injured reserve.
