According to Rep 1 Sports, the Panthers have reached an agreement with first-round pick DT Star Lotulelei.
Carolina used their No. 14 overall pick on Lotulelei in an attempt to solidify their interior defensive line. The team also reached an agreement with second-round pick DT Kawann Short on Wednesday as well.
Last year’s No. 14 overall, Michael Brockers received a four-deal worth $9.522 million, which was fully guaranteed and included a $5.365 million signing bonus. It seems like that Lotulelei’s contract will be very similar to these figures.
The Panthers were aggressive in shoring up their defensive line during the draft. Lotulelei was considered by many to be a top-ten talent, so there’s a chance that they walked away with a steal.
