The Los Angles Rams officially promoted DB Blake Countess to their active roster and placed WR Nelson Spruce on injured reserve.
- The Rams also signed DE Lenny Jones to their practice squad.
Countess, 23, was taken in the sixth round of this year’s NFL draft by the Eagles. He was, unfortunately, cut loose coming out of the preseason and later signed on to the Rams practice squad.
During his college career, Countess recorded 184 tackles, six tackles for a loss, eight interceptions, a forced fumble and 23 pass defences.
Spruce, 23, joined the Rams as an undrafted rookie out of Colorado back in May and was able to make the team’s 53-man roster. He was signed to a three-year, $1.62 million contract and is earning a base salary of $4500 this season.
He has yet to appear during an NFL game.
During his four-year college career at Colorado, he accumulated 294 receptions for 3,347 yards receiving and 23 touchdowns.
