Ravens & John Harbaugh Making Progress On Contract Extension

According to Ian Rapoport, talks between the Ravens and HC John Harbaugh are progressing toward an agreement on a long-term extension.

Rapoport says that both parties are encouraged by where things stand, even though no agreement is in place as of now.

Tom Pelissero adds that it sounds like the plan is for the two sides to circle back later on in the week.

Harbaugh told reporters on Sunday that he expects to remain in Baltimore moving forward.

Harbaugh has said he’s fine playing out the final year of his contract if they can’t get a deal done. However, it appears as though both the team and Harbaugh are focused figuring things out and ensuring he remains in place as the team’s head coach long term.

Harbaugh, 56, began his NFL coaching career with the Eagles in 1998 as their special teams coordinator and defensive backs coach. He spent 10 years in Philadelphia before he was hired as the Ravens’ head coach in 2008.

During his nine years with the team, Harbaugh has led them to a record of 103-72 (58.9 percent), which includes six playoff appearances and one Super Bowl championship in 2012.

We’ll have more regarding Harbaugh as the news is available.
