Shepherd, 25, was taken in the sixth-round of the 2015 NFL draft by the Eagles. He signed a four-year, $2,401,112 contract with Philadelphia and was set to make a base salary of $525,000 when he was cut loose coming out of the preseason.

Shepherd, unfortunately, sustained a torn right ACL and subsequently missed the entire 2015 season. He was one and off of the Eagles’ practice squad during the 2016 season before signing a two-year contract with the 49ers.

San Francisco elected to cut him loose a few days after last year’sย NFL Draft and heย later caught on with the Steelers at the start of the preseason, but was, unfortunately, cut him loose as they trimmed their roster down the 53 players.

In 2016, Shepherd appeared in 10 games and recorded two tackles. He also contributed 456 kick return yards last year.
