The Washington Redskins released veteran DT Kentwan Balmer from the reserve/left squad list on Friday, according to the NFL transaction release.
Balmer, 27, strangely cleaned out his hotel room and left Redskins camp back in August of 2012. The team subsequently placed him on the reserve/left squad list where he has remained for the past few seasons.
The 49ers used the No. 29 overall pick of the 2008 draft on Balmer. He played two seasons for them and later joined the Seahawks and Redskins for brief stints.
At this point, the odds are against him seeing any meaningful action in the coming years.
