Report: 49ers Trade An Conditional Pick To Dolphins For OT Jonathan Martin

———-

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the 49ers have traded a conditional draft pick to the Dolphins in return for OT Jonathan Martin.

  • Schefter adds that the 49ers are sending the Dolphins a conditional 2015 seventh-round pick  for Martin.
  • The condition is whether or not Martin in on their opening 53-man roster.
  • Mike Garafolo reports that the Colts and Vikings both discussed a trade the Dolphins for Jonathan Martin.

There was no way that Martin was going to be back in Miami after all that has transpired in the past six months. San Francisco has long been rumored to be an option for Martin based on the fact that Jim Harbaugh was his head coach in college, and it would allow him to be closer to home.

Parting with a draft pick for Martin seems like a decent move given that they are familiar with Martin and there still is a chance that he could turn his career around develop into a quality offensive lineman.

The Dolphins just signed their franchise left tackle earlier today when they landed Branden Albert.
