Report: 49ers Unwilling To Part With 2015 First-Round Pick To Move Into Top 10

Tim Kawakami of the Mercury News reports that the 49ers explored the idea of trading up into the top 10, but were told that it would require them to part with their 2015 first-round pick.

  • Kawakami adds that the 49ers aren’t willing to meet that asking price.
  • According to Kawakami, it appears as though San Francisco was targeting a receiver, which coincides with previous reports.

There’s still a decent enough chance that they will be able to move to for the second straight year, but the reason question is how high.

Last year, the 49ers sent the Cowboys their No. 31 overall pick and No. 73 overall in return for the 18th overall selection. Dallas currently has the No. 16 pick, so there is a chance that a similar trade could happen again this year.

Reports have mentioned that the 49ers are very high on LSU WR Odell Beckham Jr, so this could be something to watch on Thursday.
