Rand Getlin of NFL Media reports that the Bears have agreed to trade G Ryan Groy to the Patriots on Monday.
- Field Yates reports that the Bears will receive 2015 sixth-round LB Matthew Wells in return for Groy.
Groy, 24, wound up signing on with the Bears as an undrafted free agent out of Wisconsin back in May of last year and appeared in four games for the Bears.
According to OverTheCap.com, trading Groy will free up $510,000 in cap space while creating no dead money.
Groy stands to make a base salary of $510,000 for the 2015 season and would be an exclusive rights free agent next year.
