La Canfora expects Kelly to draw interest “pretty quickly.”
Releasing Kelly will free up $4.8 million in cap space for the Raiders. He signed a seven-year deal worth $50.125 million back in 2008, but has two years remaining on that contract. Kelly would have made $6.5 million this season and another $7 million in 2014.
Kelly, 32, graded out as the No. 74 defensive tackle in league, according to Pro Football Focus.
