Report: Rams Like QB Johnny Manziel “A Lot”

According to Peter King of MMQB.com, the Rams “really likeJohnny Manziela lot” and would considering drafting at No. 13 overall.

There has been a surprising amount of buzz connecting Manziel to the Rams in recent days. St. Louis worked him out last Friday in Texas with offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer conducting the workout.

King mentions that Manziel was “impressive” both on the field and in a meeting that included Schottenheimer and HC Jeff Fisher.

King adds that the Rams also met with Manziel’s offensive coordinator, Kliff Kingsbury, and now believe he’ll be able to adjust to playing quarterback in the NFL.

The problem for the Rams is that they currently hold the No. 2 and No. 13 overall picks. Overall, the consensus is that they will use the No. 2 pick on a position and then reconsider their options at No. 13. However, it seems unlikely that Manziel would still be on the board by the time they are on the clock.

The Buccaneers and Vikings have both been mentioned as teams could target Manziel in the top-10, and both of them could use a young quarterback.

We have the Browns taking Manziel at No. 4 overall in our recently updated 2014 NFL Mock Draft.
