Report: Redskins “Very Likely” To Give DE Adam Carriker To Prove Health In June

Three sources have informed Chris Russell of ESPN Radio 980 that the Redskins are “very likely” to give recently released DE Adam Carriker a chance to prove he’s healthy in June.

  • John Keim of ESPN.com reported earlier in the day that the Redskins aren’t looking to re-sign Carriker at a lower salary in the coming weeks.

Carriker’s release was listed as a “failed physical” on the NFL transactions release, so it appears as though there are still concerns regarding his health.

Carriker, 29, has played in just two games since 2012 due to numerous issues with his right quad that have forced him undergo multiple surgeries.

He signed a four-year, $20 million contract that included $3.7 million guaranteed with Washington back in 2012. The Redskins freed up $2.98 million in available cap space by releasing Carriker earlier in the day.
