Saints Hosting LSU RB Leonard Fournette For Visit Friday

Adam Caplan of ESPN is reporting that the Saints are bringing in LSU RB Leonard Fournette for a visit on Friday.

The Saints should be plenty familiar with Fournette, given that he played his college career near by.

New Orleans recently met with free agent RB Adrian Peterson, so it appears as though they’re interested in a particular style of running back. Although, it’s possible they may very well be doing their due diligence on him.

The expectation is that Fournette should come off the board before the Saints are on the clock in round one with the 49ers, Jaguars and Panthers being the teams to watch.

Fournette previously visited with the Panthers, Jaguars and Eagles.

Leonard, 22, is arguably the No. 1 running back prospect in what’s considered by many to the deepest running back class in a number of years.

During his college career at LSU, Fournette has rushed for 3,380 yards on 616 carries (6.2 YPC) to go along with 41 receptions for 526 yards receiving and 41 total touchdowns over the course of 32 games.

We have him being selected by the Panthers in the First Round of our 2017 NFL Mock Draft.
