Saints Sign RB Edwin Baker To Practice Squad, Relase RB Tauren Poole

Evan Woodbery of the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports that the Saints have re-signed RB Edwin Baker to their practice squad on Thursday.

  • According to Woodbery, the Saints released RB Tauren Poole from their 10-man squad.

Baker, 23, is a former seventh-round pick of the San Diego Chargers. He spent a little over one year with the team before he was among San Diego’s final roster cuts last year.

Baker later caught on with a number of teams including the Broncos, Texans and Browns before joining the Saints back in September.

This year, Baker has appeared in three games and ran for just two yards on one carry.

Poole, 25, signed with the Carolina Panthers as an undrafted free agent out of Tennessee back in 2012. He signed to the Saints’ practice squad a few weeks ago.

Poole has appeared in just one game this season and has one carry for no yards and a fumble.
