The New Orleans Saints have placed OL Avery Young on waivers Monday, according to Field Yates (per Mike Triplett).
Young, 24, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Auburn back in May of last year. He was set to make a base salary of $540,000 for the 2017 season.
Young was, unfortunately, placed on the reserve/non-football injury coming out of the preseason last year and wasn’t activated until a few weeks ago.
During his college career at Auburn, Young made 36 starts at right right and both guard positions. He was a third-team All-SEC selection during his senior season.
