Seahawks Schedule Visit With DT Tom Johnson For Monday

Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports that the Seahawks are scheduled to meet with Vikings free agent DT Tom Johnson on Monday.

The Vikings are reportedly working to sign Seahawks free agent DT Sheldon Richardson to a contract, so it appears as though Seattle is working on fallback options, depending on how things go with Richardson and Minnesota.

Earlier in the week, Chris Tomasson reported that the Raiders and Bills had expressed interest Johnson, but there hasn’t been any buzz about him until now.

Johnson, 33, originally signed on with the Colts as an undrafted free agent out of Southern Miss back in 2006. He lasted just over a year with the Colts before eventually catching on with the Saints in 2011.

After three years in New Orleans, Johnson signed a one-year deal with the Vikings. He played out the final year of his three-year, $7 million contract and is now in line to be an unrestricted free agent.

In 2017, Johnson appeared in all 16 games for the Vikings and recorded 32 tackles and two sacks.
