Steelers Place G Valerian Ume-Ezeoke On I.R. After Clearing Waivers

The Pittsburgh Steelers officially placed G Valerian Ume-Ezeoke on injured reserve after he passed through waivers unclaimed on Monday.

Ume-Ezeoke, 23, originally signed on with the Falcons as an undrafted free agent out of New Mexico State back in May of last year. He lasted just a few months in Atlanta beofre he was cut at the start of the regular season.

The Cardinals elected to sign him to a future/reserve contract this past January, only to cut him loose shortly after this year’s draft. The Steelers gave him an opportunity a few weeks ago, but waived him with the injury designation on Saturday.

Ume-Ezeoke has yet to appear in an NFL game.
