Titans Place LB Zach Brown On Season-Ending I.R., Sign Veteran LB James Anderson

The Titans announced Tuesday that they have placed LB Zach Brown on season-ending injured reserve and signed veteran LB James Anderson to a contract.

Previous reports mentioned that injured reserve was likely for Brown after he sustained a pectoral injury during the team’s season-opener, so this doesn’t come as a complete surprise.

Browns, 24, is entering his third year in the NFL and has been big contributor since he was drafted in 2012. Last year, Brown recorded 91 tackles, four sacks, an interception, a forced fumble and a recovery.

In 2013, Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 26 outside linebacker in a 4-3 system out of 35 qualifying players.

Anderson, 30, signed with the Patriots in early June and would have made a base salary of $855,000 for the 2014 season before he was among the team’s final roster cuts a few weeks ago.

Last year, he appeared in all 16 games for the Bears and recorded 102 tackles, four sacks, and a fumble recovery.
