Vikings Announce Four Roster Moves

The Minnesota Vikings announced that they have signed linebackers Mike Zimmer and Dom DeCicco following their try-out during last weekend’s rookie minicamp.

  • The Vikings also waived QB Travis Partridge and G Conor Boffeli to make room on the roster.

Zimmer, 23, was most recently with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent, appearing in four preseason games last season. Interesting enough, Zimmer has no relation to Vikings HC Mike Zimmer even though they both attended Illinois State.

DeCicco, 25, played for the Chicago Bears and Tampa Bay Buccaneers before his arrival in Minnestoa. As an undrafted free agent in 2011, DeCicco played in 20 games in two-seasons with Chicago and recorded 12 special teams tackles.

Partridge and Boffeli were signed to the Vikings as undrafted free agents just six days prior to being cut. Partridge played at Missouri Western where in his final three seasons as a starter scored 104 total touchdowns, including 68 passing and 36 rushing scores.

Boffeli started all 13 games as a left guard during senior season with the Iowa Hawkeyes and was an academic All Big-Ten conference player.
