Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Vikings believe RT Andre Smith’s elbow injury could be serious enough that they may need to place him on injured reserve.

This should be just another loss for the Vikings, as they continue to battle through injuries to starters this season.

Smith, 29, is a former first-round pick of the Bengals back in 2009. After seven years in Cincinnati, Smith signed a one-year, $3.5 million contract with the Vikings back in March, which included $1 million guaranteed and another $1 million available through incentives.

This season, Smith has appeared in four games for the Vikings and is rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 69 offensive tackle out of 75 qualifying players.

We’ll have more regarding Smith’s injury as the news is available.
