Jordan Raanan of NJ.com reports that the Giants have “serious interest” in Jets free agent DTย Damon Harrison.
Last we heard regarding Harrison,ย Jason Coleย reported that the Titans wereย currently in the lead forย him. According to Cole,ย Harrison has generated a lot of interest so far, and even moreย teams could be contactingย himย in the coming days.
The Jets would reportedly like to retain Harrison, but the cost of doing so will be a big issue for them, considering the money they’ve already invested in their defensive line. Cole believes it could take a team-friendly deal for him to be back in New York.
Harrison, 27, wound up signing on with the Jets as an undrafted free agent out of William Penn back in 2012. Last year, he was brought back on a one-year restricted tender and is now in position to sign a big contract as an unrestricted free agent.
In 2015, Harrison appeared inย all 16 games for the Jets and recorded 72 tackles, a half sack, and a forced fumble.
