49ers Claim DE Cassius Marsh Off Waivers From Patriots

Field Yates reports that the 49ers have claimed DE Cassius Marsh off of waivers from the Patriots on Wednesday.

Marsh, 25, is a former fourth-round pick by the Seahawks in the 2014 NFL Draft. He is entering the final year of a four-year, $2,690,252 rookie contract and is set to make a base salary of $690,000 this year.

The Seahawks traded Marsh to the Patriots for 2018 fifth- and seventh-round picks. The Patriots decided to waive him yesterday.

In 2017, Marsh has appeared in nine games for the Patriots and recorded 19 tackles, one sack and a forced fumble.
