49ers Place WR Mario Manningham On Season-Ending Injured Reserve

The San Francisco 49ers announced on Friday that they have placed WR Mario Manningham on season-ending injured reserve.

HC Jim Harbaugh told reporters earlier in the day that Manningham was unlikely to suit up for the regular season finale against the Cardinals this Sunday.

Manningham, 27, continues to deal with issues related to the knee he had surgery on back in 2012. This season Manningham played in six games contributing nine receptions for 85 yards and no touchdowns.

He is in the final year of his contract and will be an unrestricted free agent after the season. All things considered, it seems unlikely that he will be re-signed.
