Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area reported that San Francisco 49ers RB Frank Gore suffered an ankle injury during the second quarter of Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals which leaves his availability for Week 4’s game in question.
“I kind of tweaked and I couldn’t go the way I wanted to,” Gore admitted. “Yeah, I couldn’t be myself. Some of the runs, I couldn’t make the cut I wanted to make. Hopefully, I get better this week.”
Gore did say that he should know by today whether or not he’ll be able to play against the Philadelphia Eagles.
With Gore out the 49ers turned to rookie RB Kendall Hunter who wound up scoring the only touchdown of the game so fantasy owners may want to take a look at him as a contingency option depending on Gore’s status for week 4.
