49ers Release RB Brandon Jacobs

Cam Inman of the Bay Area News Group reports that the 49ers will release RB Brandon Jacobs Monday.

The team elected to suspend Jacobs for the final three games of the regular season after he publicly complained about his role with the team. Jacobs, 30, has said that the only team that he’ll even consider playing for at this point is the Giants, but with their season over and their depth at the position, it’s really hard to imagine them having any interest in Jacobs whatsoever.
