According to Jeremy Fowler, the 49ers are signing DE Ezekiel Ansah to a one-year deal.
Ansah was already set to visit the team for the third time and will provide some much-needed depth to the defensive line after San Francisco was hit hard with injuries Sunday.
Ansah will meet with the team at their temporary East Coast lodging as they’re halfway through a two-game road trip against the Jets and Giants.
The veteran pass rusher spent 2019 with the Seahawks and worked with current 49ers DL coach Kris Kocurek for a few years with the Lions.
Ansah, 31, was taken with the No. 5 overall pick by the Lions back in 2013. He played out the final year of his four-year, $18.595 million rookie contract before the Lions picked up his fifth-year option.
Ansah made a base salary $12.7 million for the 2017 season before the Lions used the franchise tag that cost them around $17.5 million fully guaranteed for the 2018 season. He left after the year and signed a one-year deal with the Seahawks for the 2019 season.
In 2019, Ansah appeared in 11 games for the Seahawks and recorded 18 tackles, 2.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, two recoveries and two pass defenses.
