Adam Schefter reports that the 49ers are signing LB James Burgess to a contract on Friday.
Burgess, 27, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent out of Louisville back in 2016. He was, unfortunately, among Miami’s final roster cuts but was later signed to the team’s practice squad.
After brief stints with the Chargers, Ravens, Jaguars Browns, Dolphins and Jets, Burgess signed on with the Packers last year.
In 2020, Burgess appeared in four games for the Packers and recorded three tackles.
