Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area reports that the 49ers have placed G Jordan Devey on waivers Friday in order to create an additional roster spot for their newly signed undrafted free agents.
- The 49ers also waived K Corey Acosta, RB Kendall Gaskins and QB Dylan Thompson.
Devey, 28, originally signed on with the Ravens as an undrafted free agent out of Memphis back in 2013. He was unable to make the team’s 53-man roster coming out of the preseason, but later signed on to the Patriots’ practice squad before returning to New England on a future/reserve contract last January.
The Patriots wound up trading him to the 49ers in return for TE Asante Cleveland during the preseason.
In 2015, Devey wound up being active for 15 games last year and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 73 guard out of 81 qualifying players.
