49ers WR Trent Taylor Expected To Miss 4-6 Weeks With Foot Fracture

49ers GM John Lynch said on Saturday’s broadcast of their first preseason game that WR Trent Taylor underwent surgery on Friday to repair a broken foot, per Jeff Deeney.

Taylor had a screw inserted into his foot and hope is that he will back early in the season.

Matt Maiocco reports that Taylor has a Jones fracture that is expected to sideline him for the next four to six weeks.

Taylor, 25, is a former fifth-round pick of the 49ers back in 2017. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $2.31 million contract and stands to make base salaries of $645,000 and $735,000 over the final two years of the agreement.

In 2018, Taylor appeared in 14 games and caught 26 passes for 215 yards receiving and one touchdown.
