Redskins RB Adrian Peterson said in an interview with TMZ Sports that he wants to play “two to three more years” in the NFL.
“I’ll be playing next year for sure,” Peterson said. “Maybe two or three more years!”
Peterson, 33, signed a one-year contract worth the veteran minimum of $1.015 million with the Redskins this season. He ran for 1042 yards on 251 carries with seven touchdowns and added 20 catches for 208 yards and one touchdown.
Peterson is a former first-round pick of the Vikings back in 2007. After 10 seasons in Minnesota, Peterson signed a two-year, $7 million contract with the Saints and stands to make base salaries of $1 million and $1.05 million over the next two years.
The Saints elected to trade Peterson to the Cardinals for a 2018 sixth-round pick back in 2017. However, Arizona cut him loose last March and he eventually signed on with the Redskins.
In 2018, Peterson appeared in all 16 games for the Redskins and rushed for 1,042 yards on 251 carries (4.2 YPC) to go along with 20 receptions for 208 yards receiving and eight touchdowns.
