AFC East Notes: Dolphins, Jets, Patriots

Dolphins

  • Dolphins HC Adam Gase said no one has mentioned the possibility of WRs Jakeem Grant or DeVante Parker missing rest of season due to their injuries. (Barry Jackson)
  • Tom Pelissero reports that WR DeVante Parker has a sprained AC joint in his shoulder and is considered week-to-week. The good news is that he won’t need to undergo surgery.
  • Gase added that QB Ryan Tannehill threw the ball on Sunday and “it seemed like it went well.

Jets

Jets HC Todd Bowles said after Sunday’s loss to the bills that he isn’t worried about his job security.

“I don’t worry about my job,” Bowles said, via ESPN.com. “I don’t talk about my job. I just try and get to the next game. It’s a business when you sign up for it.”

Reports from Monday mentioned that the Jets are not expected to move on Bowles midseason. (NFLTR)

  • Jets HC Todd Bowles said he isn’t considering coaching staff changes “at this time” but they will “reevaluate” things this week. (Manish Mehta)
  • Bowles added that QB Sam Darnold is out of his walking boot, but he doesn’t know if he’ll be ready for Patriots game after their bye. (Manish Mehta)

Patriots

  • Patriots WR Julian Edelman aggravated his ankle injury on Sunday. When asked about the setback, Edelman said: “We’ll see. We’ll see tomorrow how it feels. Not in a good mood, guys. Sorry. Sorry for being an a-hole, but we got outplayed.” (Mark Daniels)
  • Adam Schefter reports that Edelman’s ankle injury is not considered serious and he’s not expected miss much, if any, time.
