AFC North Notes: Browns, Ravens, Steelers

Browns

Browns QB Baker Mayfield said Wednesday during an interview with WKRK-AM in Cleveland that Oklahoma HC Lincoln Riley is ready for the NFL.

โ€œLincolnโ€™s been ready,โ€ Mayfield said Wednesday, via Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. โ€œItโ€™s just who he is and how he coaches and the respect level heโ€™s had from all of his players, how detailed he is. Yeah, heโ€™s ready. But thatโ€™s his decision and you know what, heโ€™s got something special there, so I donโ€™t think anybody is going to blame him if he stays there for the next 20 years.โ€

  • However, Mayfield mentioned that he hasn’t spoken to Riley about possibly taking the Browns’ job. (Mary Kay Cabot)
  • Browns DT Daniel Ekuale has been suspended by the NFL without pay for four games for violating the NFL policy on performance-enhancing substances.
  • Browns signed OL Mason Gentry and WR Daniel Williams to their practice squad.

Ravens

  • Ravens HC John Harbaugh said that QB Joe Flacco wonโ€™t be a full participant in Wednesday’s practice but he expects him to do more than he did last week. (Jeff Zrebiec)

Steelers

  • Steelers RB Jaylen Samuels told reporters that he will start Sundayโ€™s game against the Raiders but that he and Stevan Ridley will split time and rotate over the course of he game. (Jeremy Fowler)
