AFC Notes: Browns, Chargers, Dolphins, Raiders, Ravens & Texans

Browns

• Mary Kay Cabot reports that there’s nothing new in regards to a contract extension for Browns S Tashaun Gipson.
• Cabot adds that Gipson will likely head into 2015 season without new deal.

Chargers

• Chargers TE Ladarius Green (concussion) has yet to be cleared for contact, but is still hopeful to play in the season opener. (Michael Gehlken)
• Green ‘s symptoms are reportedly less severe than the previous concussion he sustained late last year. (Michael Gehlken)

Dolphins

• Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports that the Dolphins and DE Olivier Vernon are not expected have an agreement in place on a long-term extension anytime soon.

Raiders

Vic Tafur mentions that veteran DL Justin Tuck has known Aldon Smith for a long time, and was “very involved” in getting him to sign with the Raiders.

“He’s now surrounded by people who love him as a brother,” Tuck said of Smith, per Tafur.

Ravens

• The Ravens officially ruled out rookie WR Breshad Perriman (knee) and RB Lorenzo Taliaferro (knee) for Sunday’s game against the Broncos.

Texans

• Texans released DL Lynden Trail and LB Tony Washington from injured reserve with injury settlements. (Aaron Wilson)
