AFC Notes: Browns, Jets, Patriots, Raiders

Browns

  • The Cleveland Browns officially ruled out S Damarious Randall for Monday’s game against the Jets after he experienced concussion symptoms Saturday morning. 
  • The Browns have also ruled out RB Dontrell Hilliard (concussion), OT Kendall Lamm (knee) and LB Adarius Taylor (ankle) for Week’s game. 
  • Scott Petrak expects Eric Murray to replace Randall as the Browns’ starting free safety on Monday. 
  • Browns rookie LB Mack Wilson will draw the start in place of Taylor, per Petrak
  • The Browns also have G Joel Bitonio (abdomen), WR Rashard Higgins (knee), DE Chris Smith (not injury related), and QB Drew Stanton (knee) list as questionable. 

Jets

  • Dan Graziano notes that Jets QB Trevor Siemian‘s contract includes a clause that will pay him a $31,250 incentive bonus for each game he plays at least 50 percent of the offensive snaps and the Jets win. 
  • The Jets officially ruled out LB C.J. Mosley (groin) and DT Quinnen Williams (ankle) for Monday’s game. 
  • New York has T Kelvin Beachum (ankle), RB Le’Veon Bell (shoulder), WR Braxton Berrios (hamstring), G Alex Lewis (shoulder), DT Steve McLendon (hip), WR Demaryius Thomas (hamstring), and G Brian Winters (shoulder) listed as questionable. 

Patriots

  • Mike Reiss of ESPN reports that Patriots RT Marcus Cannon (shoulder, questionable) is not expected to play Sunday against the Dolphins.
  • According to Reiss, Korey Cunningham is the Patriots’ top backup at the position.  
  • The Patriots officially downgraded RB Brandon Bolden to out for Sunday’s game.

Raiders

  • Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports Raiders rookie S Johnathan Abram got some good news, as it was revealed Friday that he does not have a torn labrum. 
  • Abram is still looking at a 5-6 month recovery following surgery for a rotator cuff tear.
