AFC Notes: Browns, Steelers, Texans

Browns

Browns’ WR Jarvis Landry has played in the last four games with two broken ribs, which HC Kevin Stefanski believes have been causing him issues on the field like his two drops against the Raiders.

“That’s a possibility,” Stefanski said, via Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com. “I know he battles. It is uncharacteristic. He made a great catch there late in the game. I have high expectations for him. He knows that. He is battling, I would put it. To say that they’re related, I don’t know. I have very high expectations for Jarvis. He has tremendous ball skills. I think he’ll make those plays. I did not have a loss of any faith whatsoever in him. I think he’ll always tell you every ball that comes his way, he should catch. That’s just his mindset.”

“I think the biggest thing for me is those two drops are going to haunt me,” Landry said. “You talk about doing my job, and that was part of it. Those are definitely two that are going to keep me up tonight and probably for a couple of more days.”

Stefanski mentioned that G Wyatt Teller and RB Nick Chubb are both making progress to returning, which is good news for the Browns as each was performing well prior to their injury.

“With Wyatt and Nick, they’re both progressing,” Stefanski said. “They’re hitting every landmark and milestone that they need to hit in terms of their rehab. We will just figure that out as these days go by. Feel real good about Austin. I will know more each one of these days on the other guys.”

Stefanski offered no return timeline for CB Greedy Williams, who remains on injured reserve with a nerve injury in his shoulder.

“He’s working very, very hard,” Stefanski said. “We’re just going to keep seeing if he progresses over the next few weeks.”

Steelers

Texans

  • Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer says the Packers and Texans had serious discussions about WR Will Fuller but the two sides couldn’t agree on draft pick compensation and the Packers wanted the Texans to take on some of Fuller’s salary.
