Jaguars

  • Per Jacksonville.com’s John Reid, Jaguars HC Doug Marrone said QBs Gardner Minshew and Mike Glennon would compete in practice this week to start Sunday against the Bears. 
  • Marrone added rookie RB James Robinson is dealing with a sprained ankle and won’t practice but he’s still hoping to play. (Ian Rapoport)
  • The Jaguars are hosting P Cameron Nizialek for a visit. (Aaron Wilson)
  • Jaguars activated WR Josh Hammond and DB Josh Nurse from the COVID-19 list.

Texans

  • NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero reports the Texans fined Deshaun Watson $7,500 for violating the league’s COVID-19 protocols last week after he invited “dozens of people” to his restaurant opening.
  • Pelissero mentions that other Texans’ players were among those photographed without masks at Watson’s restaurant opening. 
  • Per Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, Texans interim HC Romeo Crennel says OT Tytus Howard probably won’t play this week due to his severe concussion. 
  • Texans promoted DT Auzoyah Alufohai to their active roster.
